Programme: 10.00 - 16.00
An Inset day looking at Spirituality and RE in the curriculum in relation to horticulture and garden design.
The day is of general interest but will also specifically benefit those hoping to enter the REEP Awards. The sessions will include help with good practice in using ICT to submit garden projects.
Teachers from all Key Stages and all types of school are welcome at the day, together with parents, governors and others who might be involved in a school’s project. To make the most of the differing skills usually needed in a good project, more than one participant may attend from a school.
MORNING SESSIONS
- Introduction to the Awards: purpose and timescale. Last year’s entries.
- Spirituality and Gardens in the Curriculum.
- Faith Traditions and the Garden.
LUNCH
Including an activity session in the host garden.
AFTERNOON SESSIONS
Workshop Session: How to develop an effective project and application. Topics include:
- Principles of Garden Design.
- ‘Theory, Fantasy, Realisation’ – Developing an Effective Project.
Participants are asked to bring a digital camera if possible.
NB 1. Participants are asked to contribute £25 per person towards the cost of the day.
