St Nicholas - Advent 2007

Once upon a time, long ago, there was a young man called Nicholas. He was good and kind – in particular he was generous. Nicholas was a Christian and because he was such a good man and respected by many people he was made a bishop. Later, people called him a saint – Saint Nicholas.

About St Nicholas - Day 8

When Nicholas died, on 6^th December 343 AD, his generous spirit continued to bless his people It is said that oil flowed from his tomb and that this oil was responsible for many healing miracles. Ever since then, the anniversary of his death has been a day of celebration – St Nicholas Day. Nicholas was quickly acclaimed as a saint – someone who lets God’s love flow through them into the world.
