Like the
Advent Calendar published by Culham last term, this Easter Garden
is for pleasure but can also be used as a teaching resource, easily
adaptable for age ranges from Key Stage Two upwards to create
a new approach to a perennial story. All the pages are downloadable
and you will find many unusual slants on characters in the Easter
narrative such as Judas, Pontius Pilate and Joseph of Arimathea,
together with some of the traditions and legends that have formed
around them, and reflections on what the Easter story has to tell
us. Perhaps some will be inspired to build their own Easter Gardens
in schools, places of worship or at home.
It would
be easy to adapt the material to create collective worships and
to develop cross-curricular work with art, science and history.
This Easter
has seen many troubles for the countryside, some probably directly
attributable to mankind's lack of understanding of the natural
world and good stewardship. We hope that this Easter Garden will
be a focus for reflection.
HAPPY
EASTER
