FOOT WASHING
Jesus washed his disciples feet before the Last Supper, on a day now known as Maundy Thursday.
JESUS WASHES THE DISCIPLES FEET
Before the final meal with his disciples, Jesus poured water into a bowl, kneeled down, washed their feet and then carefully dried them. He was showing that he was servant as well as master.
PETER
At first, Peter said that Jesus shouldn't wash his feet. Then, when Jesus said that it was important, he said, 'Then don't just wash my feet, but my hands and head as well!'
ANOTHER INCIDENT
Mary Magdalene, Jesus' friend, was in a village called Bethany. It was just before Jesus went into Jerusalem. At a meal there, a woman – maybe Mary Magdalene – poured precious fragrant oil over Jesus' head and wiped his feet with her hair!
Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus, objected. 'Why wasn't this perfume sold, and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages!'
