5/10 - Birds The nature documentary looks at birds and reveals some of the extraordinary things that having feathers allows them to do. For the first time, a slow-motion camera captures the unique flight of the Marvellous Spatuletail Hummingbird and aerial photography takes us into the sky with an Ethiopian Lammergeier. Also featured are the spectacular massed gathering of pink flamingoes, the comic display of the Sage Grouse and the Vogelkop Bowerbird with its intricate beetle-decorated structures.

The Bible: A History

Theologian Dr Robert Beckford discusses one of the Bible's most controversial books, the Book of Revelation, which has long perplexed scholars with its complex circular narrative, images and symbols. Dr Beckford asks whether it should be taken as a literal prophecy of the Last Judgement, or as an allegorical text in which John calls on Christians to stand up to the oppressive Roman Empire.

Here, their fight is not only to survive the cold, but also to find what little wild space remains in the modern world.
